ISLAND’S EDGE EXHIBITION - selected work
These paintings, prints and drawings are about standing on the shore looking out to sea. They are designed to be reminders indoors of how it feels to be in the open air in spaces like these, how they are deeply restorative and how they conjure up curiosity about the mystery of what lies beyond the horizon.
Living on an island I’ve found the many layered richness of the sea as a motif and metaphor endlessly fascinating and a theme to return to over the years. Together with mainly new paintings having their first showing, this body of work was recently exhibited at the special Tenby Museum & Art Gallery chosen for its uniquely appropriate cliff top setting. .
‘The exhibition was beautiful and thank you for allowing us to show it here.’ Mark Lewis, Curator, August 2019
